Will Writing

If you die without making a Will, you are deemed to have died Intestate. This means that the law follows its own rules and decides how your assets are distributed and to whom.

These are called the ‘Rules of Intestacy’ and they are unlikely to reflect what you would otherwise have chosen to happen. If you are unmarried or have step children, or people whom you regard as ‘family members’, they may miss out completely. Partners are also very vulnerable.

You should take control of the situation by making your wishes known in advance. By making a Will, you can appoint the people of your choice to deal with your estate and include the people you would wish to benefit from it. Family will also be spared the added complications of an Intestacy at a time of deep sorrow.

We work with the Will Writing Company and can put you in touch with someone who can help you review and existing will or write a new one – just call your ocal branch, telephone 0113 225 7777* or drop us an email to lfs@leedsbuildingsociety.co.uk and we will help you get it sorted.

*We may monitor and/or record your telephone conversations with the Society to ensure consistent service levels (including staff training).
